Privacy Notice

1. Who we are

MacroFit Calculator, operator of macrofitcalculator.com ("we", "us"), is the data controller responsible for the personal data described in this notice.

2. What we collect

• Calculator inputs: age, sex, weight, height, activity level (used to compute your TDEE and macros).
• Report preferences (if you purchase): diet style, allergies, dislikes, cuisines, meals per day, cooking time, budget, notes.
• Contact: email address you provide at checkout to receive the report.
• Order data: Paddle transaction ID, order status, environment (test or live).
• Technical: standard server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention.

Payment details (card number, billing address) are collected and processed directly by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. We never see or store your full payment information.

3. How we use your data

• Provide the calculator and the personalized report you requested (contract performance).
• Generate the AI guide and meal plan from the inputs you submitted (contract performance).
• Send the report and order-related transactional emails (contract performance).
• Detect fraud, abuse, and protect the security of the Service (legitimate interests).
• Comply with legal obligations such as accounting and tax requirements (legal obligation).

We do not use your data for marketing or sell it to third parties.

4. Who we share data with

• Paddle (Merchant of Record) — to process payments, manage subscriptions, handle tax compliance, invoicing and refunds.
• Hosting and infrastructure providers — used to run the Service (cloud hosting, database, email delivery).
• AI service providers — your calculator inputs and preferences are sent to language model providers to generate your personalized guide and meal plan. They process the data on our behalf and do not use it to train their models.
• Authorities — where required by law.

5. International transfers

Some of our service providers may be located outside the UK / EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions) to protect it.

6. How long we keep data

We keep order records for as long as required for accounting and tax (typically 6–10 years). Calculator inputs and report contents are retained for as long as needed to deliver and support the Service, and then deleted or anonymised. Email suppression records are kept indefinitely to honour unsubscribes.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@macrofitcalculator.com. We will respond within one month.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies/local storage needed to operate the Service (e.g. remembering your theme preference). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
